I bought this Hutch a couple of years ago for $40. We were going to move and we didn't have a "bar" area and we thought it would be a good idea to make this into a bar.
The moving didn't happened so it sat in our game room as a storage unit. It held mostly the things that I couldn't find a place for but I did not want to throw away.
Early this year, we finally moved and I decided that I wanted to make it into a coffee bar. We moved back in march but it was not until my old coffee maker broke that I got inspired to start working on my new coffee bar.
I had an idea of what I wanted to do but I didn't think it was going to look this AMAZING!
I took the entire thing apart and then slowly put it back together! During the transformation, the ideas started to flow and that is how I ended up using the piece that went under the upper doors on the top part of the shelf area. I used pallet wood to make the back and the shelves and re-stained the counter top to match the pallet wood. I took the bottom doors off and removed the center part to replace it with chicken wire.
This has been by far the most rewarding project I've made because I use it every morning when I make my coffee!
