My New Hobby

On January 27th 2020, I started my life change. I decided to change my eating habits and started eating low-carb. I was 143lbs then and now I’m 123. Even though the scale doesn’t define me(my favorite quote), I like the idea of making healthy eating and exercising part of my everyday life.

The next month I found SHAPEMagazin’s the ultimate 40-day plan to crush your goal, featuring @JenWiderstrom https://www.shape.com/lifestyle/mind-and-body/how-to-achieve-your-goals.

The 40 day challenge was just what I needed to get my workout routine going. In March I incorporated an extra 10 minutes of exercise per day and I used the FitOn app to keep me going.

After the 40 day challenge I created my own workout routine with the help of Shape Magazine’s articles:)

I took on my own 90 day challenge so that I can make working out a forever habit. Yesterday was the last day of my own challenge and I am not looking back!

Thank you Shapermint for keeping my belly in place during my workouts!

Thank you @FitOn app for being completely free and having awesome trainers to keep me going on my journey.

Thank you Fabletics for the cute workout clothes.

Mostly, thanks to my husband and kids for their patience and support!

Ps. I show my belly pictures because that is where most of my Fat likes to hang out! And yes my navel it’s

a bit crooked:)

HOw It All Started

I was the heaviest I've been without being pregnant!

I was 143 lbs. and decided it was time to make a life change because I was tired of feeling uncomfortable in my own body. Now, 143 lbs. might not sound like much to some, but I am 4' 11" and that makes a big difference in my body.

I first planned on making low-carb my new eating habit. I told my kids and immediate family that I was making a life change rather than saying that I was going on a diet. Somehow the word diet has a negative impact in our brain and there is a thing in our brain that when we say we are going on a diet, our brain does not like it:( and it wonders when is this going to end? Well a life change is forever or for a long period of time.

After I was almost a month into my new eating habit, I came across the 40 day challenge I mentioned above. I have always wanted to work out but never got the motivation to get off my butt and do it! So I read through the challenge and decided it was time to start something new. I was not sure I was going to make it or even finish it, but once I started I was committed.

I became obsessed with reading articles about working out and  healthy eating that I was too busy to do anything else. The challenge was great and it gave me the feeling of wanting more. It was then that I decided to pick up a pen and paper and make my own workout routine. But later in the month, while reading an article about the best work out routine, it's was when I created my 6 day workout plan to start my own 90 day challenge

How FitOn came about...

Last year, while browsing through my Pinterest home board, I found FitOn. I downloaded the app, browse through it, and that was the end of it. Well, while doing the 40 day challenge Jen Widerstrom said something about doing other workouts and I remembered FitOn. It was then that I downloaded the app again and started really looking into the different types of workouts available. Once I found what experts recommend on the best way to exercise, it was then that I was able to put my plan together. In the FitOn app, you can save your favorite workouts and schedule the ones you like to do during the week. I usually plan a week ahead and try to switch my workouts so that I don't get bored with them. It is mostly helpful so that when I wake up in the morning I don't waste time trying to find a workout. I incorporated jogging as my low-impact cardio exercise and it was something that started as a light workout and became my new favorite thing to do. I started jogging the outside perimeter of our property which is 0.2 miles long so I have to go 5 times around to jog a mile. I started by only going around 2 time and later I increased it to 6 and then to 10. After the 10 lap I increased 1 lap per week and now I jog 3 miles 3 times per week. I love jogging! It helps me to get out of my home and I use the time to think about my day ahead or to think about nothing at all!

This has been the most rewarding experience I have gone through in a long time! The feeling of being in charge of my body and how I feel is very rewarding.
